Beef Steak - How Do You Like It?

I love a steak but i believe it has to be a thick rump, ribeye or sirloin and it has to be cooked rare or at least medium if you are a beginner.
Fillet is ok for the ladies.
Anyone that has a steak cooked well done is a philistine.

Steak should cooked well and not be pink anywhere. With the exception of one or two cuts. Any self respecting butcher would tell you that.
Each to their own though I guess.

I know that those who know meat and all that cobblers will only call it a meal if it is pink inside and even bloody, but if I were to eat that my insides would be outside because the thought of blood and uncooked does not appeal to me I have been eating meat all my life.

Personally I like a fillet of Aberdeen Angus or Hereford Beef. Rub Olive Oil over it and season with salt ands pepper. Then cook it until medium. I then make garlic butter and melt that on the top of it in the pan when I am happy with how it it cooked. My recent home cooked steaks have been better than any I have had in restaurants. I normally get the steak from the Deli in Waitrose.

I once had a fight with a French chef in Barcelona as he was so incensed that I wanted my steak medium done and when he came out to argue, I then said I wanted it medium to well instead.
Summed up what a set of stressed out cunts chef's are that we came to blows over a bit of meat that I couldn't give a shit about anyway.
Stupid French ponce.
Yes I'm a philistine, but I like to make sure my food is dead before eaing it.

People saying they want it super rare, realise you are missing out on flavour for you machismo. A decent steak has intramuscular fat, that needs to be warm enough to circulate and really give a beef rather than a blood taste.
My opinion of course but based on science.
